A timeless masterpiece that holds up decades later
It's rare to find a game that reinvents its own genre as boldly as Wario Land 2. By removing the traditional game over and making Wario functionally immortal, Nintendo shifted the focus from mere survival to clever puzzle solving and exploration. Each level feels like a playground where you're encouraged to use enemy attacks as tools rather than obstacles, getting flattened or set on fire becomes a necessary mechanic to progress. My favorite game of all time.
